Notice & Takedown

In short. If content on FactsFigs infringes your copyright, misuses your rights, or is illegal, tell us and we'll act. This page explains how to send a report, what to include, what happens next, and how someone can respond if their content was removed by mistake (counter-notice).

FactsFigs takes rights-infringement and illegal content seriously. This procedure covers content hosted on FactsFigs (including creator quota posts) and is part of the Terms of Service and Content Policy. It reflects our intermediary/safe-harbour posture — we act on valid notices and on knowledge of illegal content — and the applicable rules vary by jurisdiction (DMCA, EU Digital Services Act, UK online-safety regime).

1. What you can report

• Copyright / database-right infringement — your protected work or dataset used without rights.
• Trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights violations.
• Illegal content — content unlawful in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Content Policy violations — e.g. plagiarism, prohibited content (see Content Policy).

2. How to send a notice

Send your report to ai@factsfigs.com with the subject line "Notice & Takedown". For copyright complaints, a copyright notice should include:

1. identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed;
2. identification of the infringing material and its location on FactsFigs (URL);
3. your contact information (name, email, address);
4. a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent, or the law;
5. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on its behalf; and
6. your physical or electronic signature.

3. What we do when we receive a valid notice

• We acknowledge receipt promptly.
• We review the notice and, where valid, remove or disable access to the identified content.
• We notify the creator whose content was affected, with the reason and (where appropriate) a copy of the notice.
• For clearly illegal content, we may act on our own knowledge without a formal notice, and may report it to authorities where required.

We may decline or seek clarification for notices that are incomplete, abusive, or manifestly unfounded.

4. Counter-notice (if your content was removed)

If you are a creator whose content was removed and you believe this was a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice to ai@factsfigs.com including:

1. identification of the removed content and its former location (URL);
2. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the content was removed by mistake or misidentification;
3. your contact information;
4. your consent to jurisdiction as required by applicable law; and
5. your signature.

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the content within the timeframe permitted by law unless the original complainant pursues legal action.

5. Repeat infringers

FactsFigs maintains a repeat-infringer policy: creators who repeatedly post infringing or illegal content may have their quota reduced or revoked and their accounts suspended or terminated (see Creator Terms and Content Policy).

6. Sponsored and first-party content

Sponsored stories and FactsFigs' own publishing carry higher editorial responsibility. Reports about such content are handled directly by FactsFigs at ai@factsfigs.com.

7. Misuse of this process

Submitting knowingly false notices or counter-notices may carry legal consequences and may result in loss of access to the service.
